  The Bloomington/Normal Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee and Heartland Community College (Normal, IL) have teamed up to provide our apprentices with an Associates In Applied Science Degree upon completion of our program and 16 hours of General Education Classes from HCC. Below is a breakdown of the curriculum.


General Education Courses (required):
  • COMM 101-Intro to Oral Communication
  • ENGL 101- Composition I
  • MATH or TMAT Elective
  • Social Science Elective
  • Humanities Elective


Technical/Professional/Specialty Courses (required)
These are the classes that the BNJATC will provide during your apprenticeship.
  • ELAP 111- Electrician Apprentice I
  • ELAP 112- Electrician Apprentice II
  • ELAP 121- Electrician Apprentice III
  • ELAP 122- Electrician Apprentice IV
  • ELAP 131- Electrician Apprentice V
  • ELAP 132- Electrician Apprentice VI
  • ELAP 141- Electrician Apprentice VII
  • ELAP 142- Electrician Apprentice VIII
  • ELAP 151- Electrician Apprentice IX
  • ELAP 152- Electrician Apprentice X


Work-Based Learning (required internship):
  • ELAP 299- Electrician Internship (on the job hours)
